What cybersecurity does AIS Technology include, and what costs extra?
Every AIS Technology managed IT client gets the full security stack as standard, inside the £35 per device per month plan: 24/7/365 endpoint detection and response, 24/7/365 identity and account protection, a dedicated Cyber Security Operations Centre, proactive cyber risk management, endpoint and firewall hardening, automated patching, Microsoft 365 backup and recovery and staff awareness training. Every managed client is baselined to the Cyber Essentials standard.
The one optional add-on is the compliance portal, at £100 per organisation per month, which adds a compliance management platform plus GDPR and FCA support, advanced reporting, client security questionnaires and mobile device security. All of it is delivered from the AIS Technology office in Wickford, Essex.

Is cybersecurity included in AIS Technology's managed IT plan?+
Yes. Every managed IT client gets the full security stack inside the £35 per device per month price: 24/7 endpoint detection and response, 24/7 identity and account protection, a dedicated Security Operations Centre, automated patching, firewall hardening, Microsoft 365 backup and staff awareness training. Microsoft 365 licensing is bought separately.
What is endpoint detection and response, and does a small business need it?+
Endpoint detection and response (EDR) watches what runs on each laptop and server and reacts to suspicious behaviour, such as a program suddenly encrypting files, instead of only matching known viruses. Ransomware and stolen logins regularly get past traditional antivirus, which is why AIS Technology runs EDR on every managed device, monitored around the clock by a Security Operations Centre.
What does the compliance portal add?+
The compliance portal is the one optional add-on, at £100 per organisation per month. It adds a compliance management platform, GDPR and FCA compliance support, advanced reporting, help with client security questionnaires, and security for staff iPhones and Android phones. Technical compliance guidance is part of the standard plan without it.
Will AIS Technology help us get Cyber Essentials?+
Yes. Every managed client is baselined to the Cyber Essentials standard, and AIS Technology supports businesses through both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. The certification fee itself is set nationally by IASME and paid separately, banded on the size of your organisation.
What happens if we are hit by a cyber attack?+
The Security Operations Centre monitors devices and accounts around the clock, so suspicious activity is picked up and acted on quickly, day or night. The AIS Technology team then works with you to restore anything affected, including from Microsoft 365 backup, and to close the gap that let the attacker in. Existing clients can reach the helpdesk 24 hours a day under a one-hour response SLA.
